If you’re a dog owner like I am, then you know that we would do anything to make our dogs happy, especially when that pet has been with you through thick and thin.
For me, my pup—Marlon’s the name—has been with me since the golden days, when he and I would play hide-and-seek with my cousins in our small apartment. So we have a lot of memories together. This is why when I found out that Marlon was diagnosed with cancer; it took its toll on me the worst.
I tried everything to make things better for him, help him relax in his older days. That’s when my sister recommended that I check out CBD. She told me that it wasn’t some miracle medicine. But it would offer some therapeutic effects. And that’s what I want to share with you today!
Every mammal has a biological system known as the endocannabinoid system or the ECS. CBD (cannabidiol) interacts with that system. The ECS is involved in managing various biological processes which include the immune response, memory, sleep and more.
For cats and dogs, when CBD is consumed or inhaled, it makes its way to the endocannabinoid system, and affects it just as it for humans.
What are the Benefits?
As far as studies have shown, the many benefits that CBD offers include:
Typically, CBD is considered to be very safe for dogs (and humans) since it’s all-natural and doesn’t have a high level of THC (less than 0.03 percent).
However, like any form of medication (allopathic and otherwise), it’s important to stick to the recommended dosage and not deviate from what’s been prescribed. How Do You Start?
When administering CBD for your dog, you have a choice: you could give it as an everyday supplement, or use it for special occasion. For Marlon’s condition, I gave him CBD treats like the Enliven Essentials CBD Dog Treats every morning to help alleviate those aches and pains. I also gave him dog treats when we had to leave the house for the vet, which was very stressful for him at the time.
However, even with the treats, I only gave the dosage that was recommended. I must stress this. Like a human would only consume the CBD that’s recommended for their weight and condition, your dog needs the same attention. Always ask the vet about any changes you want to make and use CBD responsibly.
Marlon has improved immensely over the past few months. So I’m quite grateful to what I thought would be a one-off.
So if you too want to buy CBD dog treats for your dog, follow my advice; talk to the vet, get quality treats and do what’s best for your dog. They deserve it!
